Know your enemy

Our nation is a collective body of people all searching for their patch of comfort, their peace of mind, that we are politically divided shows only our vast capacity for seeing a point of view not our own. Growing and changing with each new angle or take on any given situation presented to us, but no more.

"I hope Obama fails"...now, I try very hard to give Rush Limbaugh a wide berth whenever he speaks, because he's a drug addict and those folks don't always think so great, but I just can't seem to let this one go.

Years ago, I fell in love with a girl who did not love me back, no matter how hard I tried to prove it to her she just didn't see me in that light. It was horribly crushing, and after I had cried about it for a bit I found myself getting mad at her, but then my father told me- "Son, if you really love her, then you'll want to see her happy, even if it's not with you." What a great thought! "I love you, I want for only the very best for you, if happiness is something you can find somewhere else then I wish you the courage to see it through, knowing the whole way that I am here for you on any terms."
Wouldn't it be great if the loudest mouth, and by default, reigning overlord of the republican party felt that way about his country? But NOOOOO! Instead, during our country's hour of need we get the heart-felt message of -"Do it our way, or I hope you die in a fire!" Awwww, Rushie! Your a teddy bear, you big lovable lug!

It's this kind of hate, and thoughtlessness that breeds the desent running rampant through our streets, we struggle to find a way to come together as one people, working for a greater good called community and conscience, while the folks with the podiums to shout from do nothing but deconstruct. It takes no skill what-so-ever to destroy, it requires only the belligerence to disregard possiblities, and enough venom in your veins to coldly watch innocent people harmed by your callousness.

Rush dared MSNBC to go a month without mentioning him, and "then see what happens to your little network." Wow. I mean, my god, could you be more egotistical? Could you be more pompous, and self-indulgent? "Look how powerful I am! KNEEL BEFORE ZOD, SON OF JARELL!"
Incidentally, that guy loses.

You, and every llike-minded puppet like you are a part of the problem, Rush. Build something, anything not based on hatred and I might listen, but this dog and pony show your putting on now is only making things worse, making me worse. Pop some pills, you know, the good stuff. Take a few deep breaths, and stop picking fights with your fellow countrymen, you had eight years, now it's someone else's turn, didn't your mother teach you to share? We are all working to make this world a better, safer place, no one has all the answer's but we all (well, most of us) do the best we can. For some reason, you seem to think that battle lines have been drawn, you push relentlessly for us to fight amongst ourselves while the wolves bay at the door, and I can't help but feel like YOU are the enemy here.
